Jo Bowman

Jo Bowman

aspires to write for both the screen and the page. She often writes about persisting through an imperfect world, featuring gender nonconforming characters in settings that land somewhere between perfectly mundane and thoroughly supernatural. She is a class of 2024 student at Cornell University studying film and television production.

Her filmography includes Wraith of Windsor, about one girl learning not to make the same mistakes in love as the girl haunting her. Her written work includes the award-winning “Girl Club,” about a butch woman making one last attempt to live up to her mother’s expectations, “Cemetery Gabe,” a dark comedy about a graveyard guard and his relationship with the inhabitants, and “Sheepskin,” a short story about an anxious business woman spiraling as she realizes the futility of environmentally conscious capitalism. The latter features the setting and partial cast of Jo’s in-progress novel, “The World by a Thread.”
